Half Down, Half to Go!

I cannot believe how fast this semester is going! This week is midterms, and while I am incredibly stressed, I am also soooooo excited! That means I have one and a half more semesters until I am done! haha...I know pathetic right?!? But seriously it is so exciting to me! Life is just rolling along, and I am truckin' along with it! I feel like all I do is go to school, do my homework, and work. There is always so much to do I feel I don't always have the time to get everything done! It is good for me though. It is teaching me priorities and how to balance life. Good lessons for a soon to be graduate if you ask me! So nothing to exciting has been going on in my life as of late. Like I said, my life is so busy right now I don't know how anything exciting could fit in it! =) Wish me luck this week! I'm gonna need it!

Say it outloud...

I read this quote tonight and I thought it was very appropriate for the beginning of a new week.

say it out loud!

So this is me saying it out loud...

"Today I WILL do my best!"

Faith in the Lord

Another week has come and gone. Time sure does fly when you are busy. But busy is the point of my life right now, so it's all good. This past week I have really been thinking about all the things I am grateful for. At the top of my list was the fact that I was raised in the gospel of the one and only true church. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Some things happened to a friend of mine this past week, and it made me reflect on the teachings of the gospel and the heartbreak these teachings save us from. So many people think our church is only a list of things we are "not allowed" to do which is so not the case. We are advised against doing such things to keep us healthy, in all aspects of our lives, physically, spiritually, emotionally, etc. When we follow the teachings we have been taught, we save ourselves from hurting our bodies, and our souls. I know the church is true. I know that we have been taught these things for a reason and that if we abide by those teachings, we will live a happy and healthy life. Yes, bad things happen. Bad things happen to everybody. But after we make it through those bad times, we can look back and see how much stronger we are. We can see why we needed to go through that particular bad time. Most of the time we come out on top. If we don't we haven't made it all the way through yet and we need to just continue doing our best and trusting in Heavenly Father that all will work out how it is supposed to. It will work out how it is supposed to. It may not be the way we think it should be, but it is the way it is supposed to be. We just need to press forward with our faith and trust in the Lord and we will always come out on top.

The CRAZY good life

Wow, I must say I never thought I could be this busy! But busy is good, in fact, busy is great. My life is so crazy right now and I have never felt better about it. I am really doing it! And it is so liberating to know that in almost 6 months, I will be done with school. I can finally see that the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter! It's a really good feeling. Between school and work and homework, I feel like I hardly have time to catch my breath, but I am not drowning yet. In fact I think I can say I'm swimming with the current which I think is an answer to many prayers! Life is good, life is crazy, and life is busy! But it's a crazy good life! :)

First Week

This past week was the first week of my last winter semester! :) I know, exciting right?!?! I cannot believe how busy I am going to be the next few months. Busy is good though, it will make the time go by a lot faster! Between classes, work, and homework, I have been getting to know my three roommates. So far so good! They are three sweet girls and we seem to have a lot in common. This past weekend we went to Idaho Falls together and had dinner at the new chic-fil-a and then we saw Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol. Now THAT was a great movie! I loved it. Today was the first Sunday at church in a brand new ward. There were lots of new faces, which I think will be a great fresh new start. It's kind of fitting, New year, new semester, new friends, new ward.... It seems like it will be a fun. All in all, it has been a good start to the semester! God has heard and answered my prayers. Many nights were spent asking for good roommates and friends and HE has truly blessed me with that!

2012

It's two days into the new year, and the past two days have left me reflecting on the past year of my life. 2011 brought a lot of joy and pain, a lot of fun and heartache, but I made it through and will continue to do so in 2012. This new year is going to be a new beginning for me. It's always thrilling to look forward to what a new year will bring. You just never know what is going to happen that will change your life forever, but rest assured, something will happen, that part is guaranteed. In 2012, I will graduate college (finally) and be able to move on into the real adult world. How scary is that. Ok, scary isn't quite the right word, but it is exciting, nerve wracking, enchanting, enticing, overwhelming, and intimidating all at the same time. To say that I feel prepared for the year I am plunging into would be a tremendous lie. In fact, I don't feel prepared at all, but I think that's the point. If we went through life prepared for every little thing that was thrown our way, we would miss out on the chance to figure out who we are. We would miss out on the opportunity to grow into the person we are meant to become. A new year is a new chance. We are given new chances everyday. Every morning we wake up is a new chance to be better than we were the day before. It can be discouraging to think about what we didn't do or still don't have when you think about your life. I read a quote that I feel is fitting to theses situations. "If something is not happening for you, it doesn't mean it's never going to happen, it just means you aren't ready for it." I feel like I have been stuck in rut thinking about all the things I feel I am so ready for but still don't have and then I read this quote and also thought of the advice to trust in God's timing. I may think I am ready for something, and that I know what I want and think I am ready for, but if I don't have it, God is still preparing me for it, and if not what I had in mind, something greater. Whenever it comes, it will be when it is meant to happen, not when I think it should but when God knows it should.
I know it's cliche, but I am going to post a few goals I have for this new year.
1.Read my scriptures daily.
2.Write in my journal.
3.Graduate college.
4.Go to the gym at least 4 times a week.
5.Blog weekly.

JOSH GROBAN

All I can say is WOW!! August 13, 2011 was the best day of my life to date! :) Unless there is something better than going to see Josh Groban in concert (which there isn't) there is no argument about it! Josh sang for two hours straight! Oh man he is an angel sent from heaven! There is something about his voice that just makes me melt! He has been my all time favorite artists since the first time I heard him sing! The only thing that could have made the night any better was if I would have been able to meet him! Someday I will!!!!

I guess the story really began on March 2, 2011 when I bought 2 tickets to Josh Groban's Straight To You Tour concert in SLC. I have been waiting and counting down the days since then for August 13, 2011 to FINALLY come around! It took forever it seemed like because I was ready to go the day I bought them! Anyways, when the day finally rolled around my mom and I drove down to SLC and got there at about 3:30 p.m. We had some time to kill so we walked around the gateway mall for a little while. It was insanely crowded, but then again it is time for back to school shopping. At about a quarter after 6 we decided to head over to the Engergy Solutions Arena. We ended up standing outside for just under an hour waiting and dying with excitement and aniticipation. At 7 o'clock p.m. the security guards opened the door prepared for the pandemonium they were about to embark upon. We were the first in line making us the first ones through the door! I couldn't beleive it honestly! (My Grandma Child would have been so proud of us!)

First thing I did was buy myself a JG Straight To You Tour T-shirt. The one I bought was the first one I saw and immediately had to have! It had three of my favorite things...Turquoise, red, and most importantly JOSH!! I pretty much am in love with it...even though it's just a t-shirt!

After I got my shirt we found the door our seats were located through. We made our way down to the floor...yeah that's right...FLOOR SEATS BABY!!! We had to have special wrist bands to sit down there which were actually pretty cool! It made me feel special! :) haha. Our seats were so great!

The concert started at 8:00 p.m. Josh's opening act was a pianist named Eric Lewis or rather ELEW. WOW!! He was incredible! He did things with the piano that I don't think anybody could ever dream of doing! It was absolutely amazing! Such a great way to warm up the audience and get them even more excited for Josh. After ELEW was finished, Josh's violinists came out and started playing. It was the most beautiful thing! The lights were streaming and changing colors and the audience was frantically searching the entire arena with anxiety and anticipation wondering where Josh might make his entrance! After a minute or so, a stage rose up from the floor not 10 feet behind where we were sitting and Josh was on it with his piano. The arena erupted in screams and cheers from thousands of fans you could barely hear Josh begin to sing! Once the audience succumbed to the music, Josh's angelic voice flooded the arena and I seriously started to melt! This was what I had been waiting for months on end it seemed!

Josh is amazing! I honestly don't know of any artist that would be able to top his concert! He sounds even better LIVE which is most certainly not the case for most artists! His rich baritone voice awakens something within me. It just makes me melt. I could listen to him forever and never become tired of it. His sense of humor is fantastic! Seriously, he is so funny! He is just as much of a comedian as he is a singer! He sang for over 2 hours straight! It was absolutely incredible. We didn't get out of the Energy Solutions Arena until after 11:00 p.m. I wish it would have lasted even longer, but seriously I couldn't have asked for more! It has been 4 years since I attended the Josh Groban AWAKE concert. During that time I continuously looked forward to whenever the next one would be...I guess I will have another Josh Groban concert post in another 4 years or so! Such a long wait...but I KNOW it will be so worth it! And next time, I will have FRONT ROW seats! :)

The pictures I got are not the greatest...I took them with my phone which was dying...my mom didn't have her camera and we were both dying because of the great seats we had and not a way to show it off! They are ok I guess, I won't complain because at least I was able to get some to remember this INCREDIBLE night! :)

This is Josh jamming out on the drums! A-to-the-MAZING!!! Cannot even begin to describe how great this man is! :)
